Former Sylvania Hotel
“The Arts Ballroom was developed as an ode to the timeless classic gala. The grandeur of the ballroom entices the mystery of galas held in our very walls during the prohibition era.”
The Hotel Sylvania was built in 1923 as one of the first high rise French inspired hotels in Philadelphia. In May 2008 Indian Creek Investments, LLC purchased the space that was the former Ballroom & Theater of the Hotel Sylvania (presently, Arts Condominium). Spector Design Company, the world renowned New York architectural firm, was hired to create plans for a uniquely beautiful special events venue. The plans involved substantial changes in both floor plans and overall design concept. The project was completed in March 2011. In 2015 JoyArt, LLC was selected to oversee operations of the Arts Ballroom with a vision to keep the grandeur of times past alive & thriving.
